Secrets and Shame in the Sordid Suburbs
Lurid Cove drops you into the middle of a mid-century modern melodrama, where morals and undergarments are cast aside in a desperate quest to keep up with the Joneses. To get in on the action, you'll ~
- Gossip to gather rumors about anyone and everyone.
- Seduce your rivals into confessing their assorted transgressions.
- Blackmail neutral characters into doing your bidding.
- Reveal secrets to shoot your social standing through the roof.
- Host parties to mix up the dynamics or throw the cul-de-sac into chaos.
You Get the Points, They Get the Power
Revealing a rival’s secret raises your Social Standing (er, victory points) but it comes with a catch...
That player now has a "secret" power that bends the rules in unpredictable ways. Will you score now and suffer later? Or will you wait too long and watch somebody else snatch victory right out from under you?
And that's not all. To use a "secret" power you have to roll the Shame Dice, whose consequences range from nada to nuclear, making your boldest move feel both risky and risqué.
